EMPLOYEE VOICE · MANUFACTURING

Launching an employee culture committee in manufacturing

The company wanted employees to have real ownership in shaping its culture. Before the work, culture felt too much like something handed down from leadership to everyone else.

The situation

Employees are asked to live an organization's culture every day, but they do not always have a meaningful way to influence it. The company wanted to change that dynamic. A committee could create a place for employee perspective, provided it had a clear purpose and enough structure to become more than another meeting.

What we examined

The key question was how to give employees a voice that could shape culture while keeping leadership connected to what people were experiencing. The design needed to make participation practical and help the committee sustain its work beyond its launch.

The work

I designed and facilitated the launch of a culture committee, equipping participants with a structure and tools for the work. The committee created a way for employees to contribute, surface concerns, and help shape the culture they experienced, while giving leaders a more direct view into that experience.

What the work produced

The immediate result was a functioning committee model and a clearer channel for shared ownership. Employees had a structure for participating in culture work, and leadership had a way to hear what the day-to-day experience was teaching them.
